Chapter 15 · 15.20
Repeating the header row of a long table on every page
A price list, member list or schedule runs over several pages. On page 2 and beyond, the reader no longer knows which column is which. So let the header row return automatically on every page.
Step by step
- Click in the first row of the table, the row with the headings. If your header consists of two rows, select them both.
- Open the table settings on the right.
- Tick Repeat as header row at the top of each page (1).

Scroll to the next page: the header row is now there too. If you change the headings in the first row, they change everywhere. A repeated header row can only be edited on the first page.
Pitfalls
- This only works with the top row or rows of the table. You can't repeat a row halfway down.
- Doesn't the header row come back? Check that the table isn't inside a text box, and that the table isn't made up of separate tables (an empty line in between turns it into two tables).
- It's best not to use merged cells in the header row, as these sometimes cause a messy repetition.
- Check the result in the print preview via File, Print.
